We went to McDonald's for breakfast this morning and then we did laundry.

We lazed around for a while and we left for a tour at 2:30 pm. We stopped at the Salt Lake Marina. The driver captured some brine shrimp in a bottle for us to look at. I couldn't get a good picture of them.. they are too quick. I did get pictures of some pretty spiders :-). Frank was nice enough to get me a bottle of water... he knows how this climate dehydrates me. We then drove to the Kennecott Copper Mine... passing its smeltering section and other processing facilities on the way. The pit where they are mining was amazing. The humongous trucks looked so small from where we were at the visitor's center. The trucks are as big as house and the drivers sit about two stories high. It is was fascinating watching the scoops fill the trucks. We didn't get to look around the museum... we watched the movie. Then we went into the gift shop... I got another bell :-)

On the way back the mini tour bus we were on stopped in the entry way of a service station... the bus was out of gas and didn't make it to the pumps. He called for another bus. I think we made it back home between 6 and 6:30.

We took our showers and rested for a while. We didn't go to bed until about 10:30. Fireworks were still being set off. They didn't disturb our sleep.
